About
The folding chair fascinates us as an object that is both highly functional and commonly discarded. From its origins as a highly ornate wooden stool reserved for the upper echelons of ancient civilisation to a utilitarian, minimal and lightweight design that is sold by the thousands.

The chair is constructed entirely out of waste- leftovers from steel balustrades and marble off-cuts from kitchen bench tops. It is a domestic object formed from the waste material generated in making a domestic space. The marble pieces align to create a sculptural object, perfectly comfortable folded in the corner of a living room.
